How about a "COMMENTS" column -everywhere- (macro definitions, timed events, triggers, etc). I would probably comment my macros better if I could do it in an additional column rather than having to break the flow (and re-calculate jump counts, etc).

if it's easy it would be great. if not, it's probably medium priority.

Thanks!

I'll vote for this one. Use to be col. 35 and out in Assembler days if my memory serves me right.

Definitely a good idea. but for now, jeffw_00, whynot use the goto label function (I beleive that's it) so that when you insert lines, you don't have to recalculate your jumpvalues. I did this for that very reason.

I use goto sparingly because it's more cumbersome. I mean, which is easier to parse.

JUMP: if(<condition>,<val1>,<val2>)

or

JUMP: if <condition>,1,2)
GOTOLABEL <label1>
GOTOLABEL <label2>

I wish the JUMP command took labels 8-}

How about GOTOLABEL IF ("condition"= " ", "NEXT", "TEST")

absolutely that works, that's what I do. The gotolabel, then an IF formula
Yes, a comments column would be great as well, not saying it wouldn't

I'll look into adding this feature.

Dave.

As you know I am in favor of it BUT my question is how you do fit it into the screen?

set your resolution to 1600x1200 8-} (or horizontal scroll). Dave said that the next release will bring adjustable column widths as well

You obviously are younger with greater eye sight. My settings are 1280 x 1024. I think we will be scrolling. A second line might be better.

I doubt I'm younger (been much w/home automation for almost 30 years), but I may have a larger (21") monitor 8-}

Well sounds like you started around the X10 BSR brown module days. Same size monitor but I’m sure your eyes are younger. I was around when 128 was only 4 lanes and went down to 2 lanes… Looks like another good day at the beach.

interesting, as I'm in the boston area as well (metrowest). came up from NY around 1980 when I also remember 128 as being narrower in places 8-}

And yes, I still have some BSR brown modules, purchased from DAC (if you don't know who that is, then you're just foolin' 8-})

DAC as I recall was mail order found in popular magazines and airline books. They just went away and Sharper Image kind of replaced them in the early days both out of San Francisco I believe. Grew up in Marblehead got smart and now live in zip 32561 about 400 miles west of Dave..

Well, more than that - their catalogs included long product reviews and other stories written by DAC's chairperson (Drew somebody). He actually "sold" me and many others on the concept of Home Automation. Got my first box of stuff (timer controller, modules, a light switch, etc) in 1981. I still have all of it, it all still works. 8-}

Back in those days, when you called X10 support, it was likely as not that David Rye himself (chief X10 engineer for BSR) would answer the phone.

Ah, the good old days 8-}

Florida=smart depends on whether you can take the heat 8-}
