Just wanted to see if anybody in the Central Florida area was interested in attending the first annual PowerHome Users Group meeting.....just kidding, not really a users group meeting but just a night out for dinner and talk about anything home automation. GadgetGuy (Ken) is currently down in the central Florida area on his annual vacation and we usually meet with our wives for dinner to speak geek. If anyone is interested, just post here and let me know the area that is best for you and what date/time works for you. Ken is down until the 21st and is in Ocala. Im in Apopka and we usually meet about halfway but if anyone else is interested in joining, Im sure we can adjust where we meet to accomodate the most people.

sorry guys, If I could I would attend if it was only to see FL. but I already booked my holiday to Denmark....
If it is annual and the dat can be set in feb/march, then there could be a chance....

Dave- sounds like the consensus approach may not produce a date.
Let me humbly suggest April 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17. The date that gets
the most OK's wins.
Further since you are "da man" we should make it easy for you. Thus I
suggest you pick a place you know and like.
Just remember it is "bike week" in Leesburg this weekend so stay
away from that area.

Pete if you guessed April 23, you would be right!
I'm assuming that a weekend works best for everyone, but if not a big
deal, I'm available any time.
Hopefully we can get a few of us together to swap stories and get to
know each other.

Woops. Just got an invite to dinner with friends on the 10th, so the
noose tightens around the 9th, or 15-17th.

Lee could make it in one day if we can pry him away from his domain. I’m a day away but we may need a little more lead time. I think the idea is great but the users are spread all over. Maybe Dallas? That’s a hub for almost anything that fly’s. Then again we could do a “mini bull session” for those that are close in to Dave’s for now.

The "mini bull session" was what I had in mind when I suggested a
get together to Dave.
When I come to Florida every year I try to see Dave and thought it
would be fun to meet the several of you that live here too.
If no one can make it I'll just join Dave & co for dinner one night.

Sorry to take so long getting back with a date. Had a minor emergency with my daughter this past weekend that destroyed any chances for doing it then. Next weekend (the 15th and 16th) are probably out as well since Im having solar panels installed. Im thinking about Monday the 18th for dinner.
I apologize for the short notice and not being able to make a weekend before Ken leaves  . I'll try to be more proactive next year and see if we can actually get a small group of us together.
I know Leesburg (Im hoping bike week is past) is about halfway between Ken and I so Im thinking about the Chili's at 9925 Us Hwy 441, Leesburg, FL about 19:00.

Monday the 18th is a go for me at 7PM at Chili's.
Dave, Nancy wants to know if Mira can come? If so, Nan will attend.

Nan was invited to an all day shopping spree with friends and
probably won't be back in time to come with me to dinner so I'm
planning to come to dinner alone.
That's a FYI in case Mira would rather not have to hear 3 gadgeteers
all exchanging their ideas!!!
We are off to St Augustine this morning on the motorcycle for a few
days of R and R. Looking forward to then getting together on Monday.

Thank Joyce for me Pete, she has embarrassed Nancy into forcing her
group into coming back early enough do she can join us.
She and Joyce will have much in common as Nan recently asked me
to writeup a User Manual for our PH home so she could keep some
semblance of normal operation in case I died before her ;-(
We will try to arrive about 6:45ish too. I will have a Harley teeshirt on.
I'll wear a red one to stand out. I'm bald on top but with a short white
beard (hey you have to grow it where you can!).
