You should see DCC in the system tray.
Double click on it and you should see a small window that says the following:
PowerHome Distributed Control Client version 1.0.0
Socket Server successfully started on port (whatever port you put in dcc.ini).
Listening for requests...
The following example assumes
the touchscreen ip address= 192.168.1.102
port= 8101
username=Jeep
password=Creep (did I guess right?)
you want to send a formula that opens up a file explorer window on your touchscreen if it's running winXP.
ph_ssrequest("192.168.1.102",8101,"Jeep","Creep","FORMULA"," ph_run('explorer.exe')")
Also you may want to shutdown your firewall just to see if it's blocking PH and DCC.

I wish the DCC client would show a log of received requests, etc. Not what the request was, but like "received 5 requests" or something. This would help in diagnosing this type of issue. You'd at least know if it was getting to the machine. Took me a while to get it working on mine as well.
Open the ports on your firewall that DCC uses to communicate on both machines (sending and recieving)
thanks again for all the great work Manny and I don't mind leaving your stuff on my server. Might be easier to have it all here on PH though, since DH offered, for easy reference

Eric,
That's good news.
Your previous post mentioned that you had Xsend working fine.
Now that you have DCC working, it's just a matter of using ~~ (2 tildes before and after the command used by xsend , 4 total )in your formula.
Also I kept things as simple as possible by putting Xsend in the C: drive.
Either way let us know.

Manny,
I got it!!!
Thanks for the details, just have to add all of my triggers. On that note, is there a better way to add triggers other than a trigger for every controller of a single specified light?
example: My KITCHEN LIGHT is controlled locally by a switchlinc and also controlled by BEDROOM KEYPAD button 4. Must I make a trigger for each to change button state on XL.
There may be a simple solution I just don't have enough experience yet.
Maybe this is mentioned in another topic on the forum but I have yet to find it.
Thank you again.

You have graduated my class.
You now know at least as much as I do.
Don't ask the kindergarten teacher about Kepler's 3rd law of planetary motion. (Ok, bad analogy. No disrespect to kindergarten teachers who discuss Kepler on a daily basis.)
I use x10out as a trigger, so if PH is involved you get the status. I use mr26a, keypadlincs and touchscreen, can't remember the last time I went to an actual lamp...
If I were you I'd start a new thread, as people who know the answer may not find your question in this thread.
You may want to look at this thread or this thread
If they are unrelated I've proved my point.
If your devices respond to status requests this
thread may help...

For now, yes. Dave mentioned adding more trigger functionality later.

While I was working hard at the office , I found the following web site that may have alternatives to Xlobby for those whose boat did not float with XL.
MP3car

Not yet ready to be used as a frontend for PH, but looks promising:
eHome
Also check out the Games section to incorporate into your project.
I'll be vactioning in Florida next week, so if you are in the Daytona or Orlando area let me know and we can talk PH over a beer...

I guess I jinxed the Shuttle launch.
Dave,
On the West Coast we go by PowerHomies.
Per our conversation:
Fun things to do with your cell phone while your in-laws are house sitting.
Remote Control the following without telling them:
1) Lights
2) Home Theatre
and watch them on yor webcam.
