So bhlonewolf and dhoward, where is the "Vista Howto"? Was it ever created?

Here are my issues. Hopefully you can help

I have a 2414S and a Vista computer (onboard 9-pin).

When I install Powerhome (1.03.4.12 beta) and run it I get errors:

SDM3.exe "an error occured in the aplication"

and

"Smarthome device manager ISRESPONDING command failed for Insteon PLC. PLC attempting to restart controller"

If I run your reg key and turn SDM3 run as admin i don't get the first error but I still get the second. It looks like SDM is not communicating with the PLC?

IF I open SDM manually

downloadTimer started
timerActivate not enabled
PLC:isresponding=False
downloadTimer started
timerActivate not enabled
PLC:isresponding=False
downloadTimer started
timerActivate not enabled
PLC:isresponding=False
downloadTimer started
timerActivate not enabled
PLC:isresponding=False

and so on...

Tried all this on a separate Vista machine. Same thing. Is there something I am not doing right with the com port? It is activated in the BIOS. No bent pins. Or is this a problem with Vista and the PLC? Everything works on my XP machine.

Help please...
