I'd like to be able to programmatically tell the 2420M to signal the next motion it sees.

Simple description of the scenario is, I have a light that is controlleld by the 2420M. I leave the room and hit the off switch as I leave the room out of habit. I now return to the room in less than 30 seconds with my arms loaded and want the 2420M to turn on the light.

So, the idea is that when I hit the off switch, I have PH wait 2 seconds, then rearm/reset the 2420M so it will again trigger on motion, without waiting for the internal timer of the 2420M to expire.

Having said all that, I have no idea if that can be done with the extended codes or if it is what it is. I'm hoping Dave has some extra knowledge.

Dave is a magician but in this case I would not expect a solution. The motion sensor RF receiver is turned off to save battery life so it is not listening for a command.

Lee,

You of course are correct on both items.

I guess my best solution is to make sure I'm using V2 2420Ms so that the delay can be set to 30 seconds instead of 1 minute.

Thanks for the reminder.

If you set the Motion Sensor to "On-Always" will this issue of "sleeping" for 30 seconds or more go away?

I want to use my motion sensors to ALWAYS send me an "on", even if it is every 2 seconds. I do not need the motion sensor to send an "off".

If I receive an "on" I will turn on a light via a VBS, that VBS will also create a timed event x minutes in the future to turn off that light.

Does anyone know this is how the motion sensor will behave?

Thanks,

Richard
