I just got PowerHome2 Version 2.1b and I need some help. I have a Smarthome Powerline Modem and a Lamplink V2. I have been able to control the Lamplink through the Devices tab in the INSTEON Explorer.

When I turn off the device, it slowly turns off, I want it to immediately turn off. I have tried changing the desired local ramprate to 31, but it makes no difference.

The help files are very sketchy with information. I found a users manual for version 1.03.4.5. but it is so old and doesn't match the version I have. Is there a more up-to-date users manual? Are there some tutorials? Where can I get some help in identifying all of the functions available?

Just for background, I am trying to get up to speed with home automation so we can fully automate our log cabin in Maine.

Thanks!!

Did you link the Lamplink and the PLM?

The "Fast Off" command (decimal 20) will turn the LampLinc Off at its fastest ramp rate. The actions of Insteon commands are not unique to the PH level. The basic On, Off, Fast On, Fast Off commands operate the same on all levels of PH.

TonyNo: Using the links tab, I set the LampLinc as a responder to the PLM and the PLM as the controller to the LampLinc. I then went to the PLM/PLC Groups tab and created a group. When I tried to control that group, nothing happened.

Lee G: I don't know what PH level means in this context.

Thanks for your replys.

The reference to PH level was regarding the version of the manual you found and the version of PH code you have installed. There is no manual for 2.1x. Insteon commands work the same regardless of the level of the PH manual or the PH code.

Group processing is basic to Insteon devices. All Insteon devices that are controlling each other, SwitchLinc turning On/Off a LampLinc, use Group commands. What Group number did you assign to the Group and how are you controlling the Group. Assigning a Group ID using the PLC/PLM Groups tab and then using that ID in a ph_insteongroup() call would be one way to issue Group commands.

Do all the links show verified?
