I have now gone thru three 2477S Insteon on/off switches all with the same issue. I have sent back two as defective but now upon encountering yet one more, I am beginning to wonder.
None of these switches transmit any Insteon commands other than the "Manual Change". I never see any GROUP IN traffic (even in the Raw Log). All ion/ ioff/ ifaston/ ifastoff commands never get sent out by the switch.
Only when you hold down the switch producing dim/brighten Manual Change start/stop commands (which is irrelevant for this on/off relay switch) does anything seem to be sent out.
Thus I am unable to Trigger anything on any wall switch actions.
These are all brand new switches from Smart Home, just received over the last week.
Has anyone else had similar issues?

Ken,
Havent seen or heard this before but one more thing I
would try is to manually link the suspect 2477S to
another Insteon device as a controller (another 2477s
or similar would be ideal). Then see if the 2477S will
indeed control the other switch or not. If it does,
then you know the 2477S is probably ok and we'll need
to look elsewhere for why your Insteon controller isnt
seeing the data. If it won't control, then I would say
its defective unless there is something that
completely attenuating the signal or causing
interference (or perhaps too far away depending upon
the responder switch location).
Dave.

Ah David -
As Forrest Gump so aptly stated, "Stupid is as stupid does."
Thanks for waking my brain up with your comments above.
In the Links Tab I had neglected to make the PLM a "Responder" for the light switch. Since this was a stand alone switch, solely controlling its attached light, the switch had no links in its internal data base, so it decided since it was NOT linked to anything why bother to send out any information and needlessly clutter Insteon traffic. For some reason, however, it did transmit "Manual Change" even though it is a switch (not a dimmer) and doesn't support the Manual Change commands. That probably caused it's firmware writers to overlook blocking non-linked command traffic.
As soon as I established a PLM "Responder" Link for the switch, I started getting Insteon commands sent back to PowerHome and now all my Triggers are working perfectly.
