Hi All

first: HAPPY NEW YEAR!

In XP and W2K3 it is next to impossible to change the computers default voice from SAM to another...
I've been searching and found SAPI5VoiceInstaller.
This makes it possible after installing this package to change the default voice... DO NOT INSTALL THIS ON VISTA!!

Download e.g. on:

http://www.azamit.com/SAPI5SpeechInstaller.msi

or just do a google search on the packagename

Hope this helps!

Dave: I could Mail/Upload the package to you for you to put on the download page?

Peter

Happy new year almost exactly 1 year after this thread originated!

I'm playing with TTS on my PH system for the first time tonight. I have it working and can get it to talk to me. I've spent a couple hours trying to figure out how to change the voice from Microsoft Sam to something else with no luck. I've been trying to load the free Microsoft Mike and Mark voices just for something different. No matter what I try, wheteher it be installing the software in the above post or a number of different other files I found in my google searches I've had no luck. I can't get anything else to show up in the dropdown in control panel's speech settings. I've seen old posts on here talking about how to change the voice inside PH, but I think those aren't accurate anymore with latest version as I don't see anywhere in PH settings to pick a specific voice.

Does anyone have any ideas on what I'm maybe doing wrong?

Followup question to that, does anyone know of any good quality free voices out there that are available that work with PH?

Thanks.
