When I enter a new timed event every thing looks OK until I close the screen. When I reopen the Timed Event Screen the new event is gone with no errors.
I had a problem with a macro that I was creating yesterday, I had just about finished debugging the macro when I closed the screen a error popped up saying that some thing was wrong with the sytax of the macro "error updating the database" I had the option of OK or cancel I selected cancel and the macro I was working on dissapeared. I had saved this macro several times as I was working on it.
PowerHome Ver 2.1.4 Database 2.1.2
Any Ideas?

The timed event may have already expired if it was a one shot. How did you save the macro?

Pete
The macro was saved by exiting the macro and by the F5 key several times. I had been working on the same macro for a couple of days. I am now creating a duplicate as I am building the macro. I usually save a copy of finished macro on my backup drive.
I never thought of the OS being a one time event I bet that is the problem. But now that I think about it I sure that you are right.
Thanks
Paul

I've never had the disappearing Macro problem. If it continues you might try running the Upgrade Utility. That will sometimes fix strange problems.

Thanks
I have ran the utility that checks the database "PHUPG" and I noticed that the database is about 10% of it orignal size. The database is at 3,900K it was at 39,000k. Every thing seems to be working fine I will be more careful with saving macros as they are developed just in case.

I have noticed that timed events disappear also. My observation is that if your macros are "running", and you edit than save a macro, you have the possibility to lose one or more timed events.
What I have been doing, based on Dave's recommendation, is to turn off timed events (alt-F5 or Control/timed events) while I'm editing/saving macros and turn timed events back on when I'm done. This seems to reduce the instances of disappearing timed events. So far, my observation is the timed events do NOT seem to disappear while PH is running, rather only when editing/saving macros.

Paul,
Concerning your missing macro, Im pretty sure I know what happened and its something that I'll need to fix. You can prevent it from happening though in the future by first Saving your changes before closing the PowerHome Explorer. Pressing the F5 key (Edit->Refresh) will both save and refresh the current screen. If you've got an error that is preventing the macro (or other screen) from saving, you'll get the same error message but if you hit Cancel, the screen will stay open (instead of closing like happened to you) and you can correct the error. Usually, the error will be a required field that is blank. The error message should give a clue as to whats missing.
Concerning the Timed event...keep an eye on it and let me know if it happens again. Ive made a change to how timed events work so the next version should prevent it from happening.
Dave.

Dave,
I am sure that I had more than one explorer screen open at the time of the macro problem (and the timed event) and I was thinking that that could have contributed to the problem. Later I tried to duplicate the problem and I could not get more than one explorer screen open at a time.
Thanks
Paul
