Hi - well I've wiped the egg off my face from my last posting and am boldly posting again 8-}.

I have a KPL where I previously set up one of the LEDs to turn on/off independently under macro control. I am trying to do the same thing with a 2nd LED in on the same KPL and can't seem to make it happen. As per Dave in the post here...

http://www.myx10.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1628

Here's what I did
1) go into Insteon Explorer, Links Tab. Select PLM. Drag KPL into responders, select button (5), and change group to unique number (181 here), do a Save.

2) go to Insteon Explorer, PLC/PLM Groups, and "append" new entry corresponding with the new group. Click "control" -> Flash, and the light should flash.

except it doesn't.

The Link Status is "Flagged Create" and the Alevel/ARamp of the new button is 0 (whereas the old one is 255/31). Otherwise, I don't see any clues.

I try to "rebuild" and "save" for both the KPL and PLM and nothing happens, nothing goes into the pending queue.

I went into KPL config and confirmed that all the buttons on the KPL are non-toggle.

I tried it with button (4) in case something was funky with button (5), same (non-) results.

I tried re-initing, and even exiting PH and re-starting. All still is as reported above.

Any suggestions as to what to do next?

Thanks!!!!
/j

Flagged Create means the link records are flagged to be created but have not yet been created. Cannot control the KPL secondary button until the links have been created. Make sure the device is not marked Disabled, the Clear Failed column is not marked in Red and Enable Pending is checked.

From the previous I2CS work

"Ok - I tried disabling everything except the PLM,"

I don't think I disabled everything manually -

but, hmmm, maybe I did.....

The real problem is that I touch this stuff so rarely that whenever I do it's learning-curve all over again (sigh).

Thanks
