HELP....I am new to insteon and powerhome (I am familiar with powerhome x10.) I just purchased a insteon 2413S powerlinc to replace a CM17 x10 controller (or could be cm11, not real sure). How do I configure the 2413S as a x10 controller in PH.... I want the 2413S to comunicate with my x10 devices.
Any info would help me out, like I said I am new to insteon....... Nick

Nick,

If you've been doing any kind of real control with X10, you probably meant a CM11A interface and not the CM17A which is a tiny serial port only (doesnt plug into the power) RF adaptor.

To setup your 2413S to do X10 (keep in mind that none of the Insteon controllers send/receive extended X10 commands) just open PH Explorer and navigate to Setup|Controllers. Insert a new line, give an appropriate ID (remember it) and set the controller type to "Insteon PLM". Click the "Settings" button and set the COM port to the appropriate value. You can leave the other settings as is. Click "Done" and then reinit or restart PowerHome.

Upon restart, you can test the new controller by opening the Palm Pad (Alt+F7) and setting the "Ctlr" to the ID you gave the controller in the step above. Set the housecode and try sending some X10. If all works, the next step would be to open the PH Explorer and navigate to PowerHome->Devices->X10->Units and changing the "Controller" on all your X10 devices to the new controller ID.

Hope this helps,

Dave.
