For funbobbybaby69 - Currently PH, running on the PC, goes through a PLC to send/receive commands to/from the powerline. What the Alpha support for PLM provides is the ability for PH, running on the PC, to send/receive commands to/from the powerline through a PLM rather than a PLC. What you are looking for is to change the configuration for ON/OFF OFF/ON state transition of an EZIO8SA, which is configuration information maintained inside the EZIO8SA, not the PLM the EZIO8SA uses to communicate as a device with the Insteon network. Each Insteon device, like a Switchlinc or Keypadlinc, has PLM like capability built into the device, that the device uses to communicate with the Insteon network. Just so happens that an EZIO8SA uses an external PLM to communicate with the Insteon network rather than an internal one that exists in "normal" Insteon devices. You don't need PH PLM support unless you have two PLMs, the one that PH will use to communicate through (where it is now using a PLC) and the one the EZIO8SA is connected to, to communicate as a device with the Insteon network.

EZIO8SA <--> PLM <--> powerline
Switchlinc <--> (internal PLM) <--> powerline
I'm not sure PH has the logic to set the internal state change configuration (switching the Insteon commands used on an Input state change) of an EZIO8SA. The key is that the configuration information is contained in the EZIO8SA, not the PLM the EZIO8SA is using to communicate with the Insteon network. If you have a PLC for PH to communicate through, you don't have to use the alpha. If you have a PLC then the SHN Utility Suite or PH, if it has the logic to set EZIO8SA configuration information, can use it to communicate with the powerline and change the EZIO8SA configuration. If you have two PLMs (no PLC), one for PH to communicate through and one for the EZIO8SA to communicate through, then you will need to use the alpha or wait until Dave integrates the alpha into the beta. As Paul mentioned before, SHN Utility Suite does not have support for communicating through a PLM.

EDIT: It is probably incorrect that the configuration data is stored in the physical EZIO8SA device. Other EZIOxx devices that are packaged inside a PLM, with the EZIOxx daughter board plugged into the PLM motherboard, actually have their data memory mapped into the lower bytes of the PLM memory. The EZIO8SA, although packaged in a separate housing because of the space required, probably stores the configuration data in the lower bytes of the PLM memory, just as other EZIOxx devices do. Does not change the basic premise of how the EZIO8SA/PLM combo is communicated with, only where the configuration data is physically stored.
