Dave-
I am trying to off load PH from checking my TV ON status every 6 seconds by pinging it, and want to let a Win bat sequence do the work and only write a file when a state change actually is on or off and then write a file showing the new state that ph-file monitor can use to detect a state change.

Having used ph-file monitor in this capacity before I think it is an ideal approach BUT I can't get it to work.

I initially got this message ...

I tried registering the Plugin and it seemed to go thru the motions but I NEVER got a "successful" message.

I went thru the repair motions for Windows with the Cmd line repair tools....
  • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
  • sfc /scannow

But a re-registration effort then resulted in...

I then reloaded the file monitor unZipped files into the plugins folder but get the same error as above.

Not sure what to try next.

Any suggestions?

Ken,

The first error message looks like you may not have executed the regsvr32 command from a command prompt run with Administrator
privileges.

The second error message has an improper path of "c:\program files\powerhome\plugins\ph_filemon.ocx".

Dave -

I have always run the regsvr32 in Admin Mode (2 times
now) but I will try a 3rd time just to make sure.

The 2nd err msg does show an incorrect location of the
files. I had caught and corrected that but grabbed the
wrong screen cap to post here.

Everything IS in "C:\powerhome\plugins\" with the correct
filenames.

To be sure I will rerun that effort too and advise,
GG

Nope. Redid everything and still no success.

I think I have everything right.
PS- I did both an INIT and a total restart to see if I could succeed with the last graphic. :-(

Ken,

Not sure what you did different this time around but your first screen cap shows that the DLLRegisterServer succeeded this time so you should be good
with the FileMonitor being registered now.

In your "Setup Plugins" screen cap, you need to have a checkmark in the "Active" column in order for the plugin to be activated. Once you do that and
restart PowerHome, you should be up and running.
