I have tried to install the downloaded 30 trial version of PowerHome but keep getting an error message that there are corrupt files, Is PowerHome compatible with Windows 7?

It is compatible. Be sure you have administrator rights. Furthermore, disable UAC if you feel comfortable doing so, and then right-click on the installation file and click "Run as Administrator"

I run on both Win7 and Vista. Although it sounds like your download failed. I would download the file again then install taking the defaults. Then do what sjvonstein suggested. If you still have a problem post the details here.

I re-downloaded the file and chose "run as administrator" and I still get the same error message,"The configuration data for this product is corrupt. Contact your support personnel".How do I correct this problem?

Doesn’t sound like a PowerHome problem. I would try running CCleaner and see if that fixes it. Do you also get an error number?

Here’s a little tidbit I found but don’t know if it pertains to you.

Here's what worked for me:
In the Registry Editor delete the entire
HKey_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\Installer key.

Thanks for your responses. I don't get an error number. Will Deleting the registry key cause any problems?

You might want to backup the register just in-case but I don’t believe it would be a problem.
This is what mine looks like.
