seems to be set to a string and not linked to the database through the devices unique ID.

That is, if you creat a macro using an Insteon devices ID and then change the ID in the Insteon Device setup screen, the macro detail ID stays the same and the macro no longer functions. HTH - Carl

Carl,

This is true. Normally I would take care of this with a simple database on update trigger when the ID is changed. Unfortunately, the runtime version of Adaptive Server Anywhere does not support triggers .

I'll see how hard it would be to implement this from within code though.
