Any Chance of supporting the USB RF Transceiver firecracker (model CM19A) ?

By the way PowerHome is so much fun, I haven't slept in days.

Manny,

I would love to!!  I have a Ninja camera that I would love to be able to control through PowerHome.  However, X-10 keeps the protocol specifications to the CM19A a closely guarded secret.

Ive come across a few attempts people have made at reverse engineering the protocol, but nothing has been made public yet.  I imagine X-10 keeps the protocol secret so they can sell more of their software that controls the Ninja camera.

I'll keep researching however and if anything is made public, I will definately add support for it.

Dave.

I think the cheapest thing would be a CM11A. You can find these at smarthome.com and other vendors for $45. For $49, you can get the CM11A, plus, a few other modules from x10.com in an ActiveHome Kit.

Hi Dave,

It looks like controlling the Ninja Pan and Tilt with Powerhome may be possible sooner or later :

Manny,

I checked out the links and thats the RF protocol for the Ninja, but not the communication protocol for the CM19A :-(

However, on the same site, you can find plans to build an IR to RF converter and a program that will output the Ninja RF protocol as IR codes to a RedRat2.

I have actually purchased all of the components and have been planning to build the IR to RF converter since I currently use a RedRat2 with PowerHome.  I plan on this being my workaround to control my Ninja.  Alas, I have not had a chance to build it since Ive been too busy working on the next release of PowerHome.

If you want to check it out, the link to the IR to RF converter is here: http://www.laser.com/dhouston/ir2rf.htm and the link to the software to generate RedRat2 compatible IR codes is here: http://www.laser.com/dhouston/codegen.htm

Skoegler,

As Tony suggested, I would recommend the CM11A for sending powerline X-10 and the MR26A for receiving RF X-10.  When the next version is released, you can use the RS-232 version of the PowerLinc and the WGLDesigns W800 or W800RF32.

Dave.
