Hey Gang!
I was thinking it would be very useful to build a garage door opening app into my droid phone, which I mount on my bicycle...since I clip in, and have a trailer/kid combo, this would be HUGE...my phone already does my maps, and a few other good things while I'm on the bike, so hey, why not?
Anyway has anyone done anything like this? I am an Insteon house, and have the components to setup the garage door...just wondering the best way to implement it as an app or something (not sure I want to try to do it with the Control Center...a little too timely/bulky, but a big "garage door" button app would be nice.).

I used the control center to create a page for controlling my garage door. I purposely coded it so it cannot open the door--
only close it (personal preference). You need to realize of course that if someone were to get a hold of our phone and it
had the capability to open your door, they they would obviously be able to do so. That being said, it didn't take long at
all for me to code it all up.

...and then you wrote a droid app to make this cleaner!
For those who don't know what I'm talking about, please visit: http://skipstechtalk.net/powerhome-connector-for-android/
(shameless plug for Skip's app).

For anyone who wants an update on this, Skip (McGibbage) has a new app called PHCA (Powerhome Connetor) for Android which facilitates this nicely, including pesudo real-time updates on garage status (whether triggered from the phone or not).
I am using an Insteon Garage controller kit, neatly hidden away.
There are a lot of folks "scared" of doing this, but I see arguments to the contrary. Skip's app allows for action-based PIN number entering, which means if your phone is taken, and you've setup the PIN, it's not like someone can just get in your garage (as in if a potential larconist takes the garage door opener from your car).
By doing this, we removed our garage door openers from the cars altogether. Nice. PIN required (no big deal) to open garage door...also nice. Status of garage door with audible alarm, pop-up message, and status bar message on the phones. Also nice (thanks Skip).
If anyone's interested, let me know and I'll give you more details on the hook-up.
