I just noticed that the buttons on MDI forms don't show up when maximized in the beta...

Tony,

Confirmed...on my Windows XP system, my buttons disappeared as well, but not consistently.  If my frame window was not maximized and I maximized the Control Center, my Control Center buttons were not visible, but still worked.  If my frame window was maximized and I maximized the Control Center, the borders of the buttons for my Control Center were gone, but the inside graphics were visible.

I tested on my development system (Windows 2000) and the above behavior was not there and everything was normal.  However, Ive already upgraded the runtimes on my devel machine to 9.01 (the next release will use these as well).  Sooooo, it may go away because the runtimes are a newer version or it may not because its related to Windows XP .

In any event, Im putting on the finishing touches for the next release (version 1.03.2)!!  Just have to finish the database upgrade utility and upgrade the manual and were there.  So we'll know shortly .

Dave.

Cool. An interesting bit of info... though the buttons are not drawn, they do work! If you click where they should be, everything happens that should.

Are there supposed to be toolbar buttons in the location circled (to the right of the menu bar)?  I am running XP on my machine, and I have never seen toolbar buttons in the location circled on TonyNo's image, regardless of the MDI window state.

Note that, in the Design View, an extra set of toolbar buttons appears, below the standard buttons.  I can drag this toolbar to sit alongside the standard buttons (if the PH window is wide enough to accomodate this) but PH does not 'remember' that I've moved them there if I shut it down and restart it (or do a re-init).  Regardless, I don't think that this is the same problem others have described here.

Am I missing something?

No, you're not missing anything.

Yes, the standard buttons should be there. They come and go on my system.

The window positions are not stored when PH is exited... yet.  Hint, hint, Dave! Maybe 1.3.2?

Yep,

Another thing that Ive done for the next version is compile it to use the new visual style of Windows XP.  It may also help the disappearing button syndrome.

I'll look into adding code to track and store the locations of the various toolbars .

Dave.
