Sorry if this has been asked, by I cannot find an answer.

I am trying to create several scenes on a keypadlinc with the load included in the scene. I want to be able to control the dim level and ramp rate of the load. I understand this cannot be done by simply creating the linc.

I am thinking the easiest solution is to have the button trigger a PLC group. How do I do this? How does it know which group number to trigger?

Is there a better way? I would still like it to toggle the group on or off. Thanks.

Lazyman,

Two ways to handle this. 1. You link all the devices to the KPL secondary button EXCEPT for the load. You then create a trigger for the KPL secondary button and then control the load from PowerHome. The problem with this approach is that the load does not perform in unison with the other grouped lights. 2. Link the KPL secondary button to the PLC and create a PLC group with all of the lights including the load at the proper settings. Again, create the trigger on the secondary KPL button and then fire the PLC group.

If the KPL secondary button is button #5 ("C" on a 6 button KPL), then the PowerHome trigger would be: "Insteon Group In", KPL_ID, 5, On for when button 5 is turned on. You would then create a similar trigger for Off or any other commands with button 5. But the "Trigger ID Number" is the group or button number of the KPL.

HTH,

Dave.
