Just got PH loaded and devices set up - trying to figure out how to set up some basic macros. Not much of a programmer. What and where to start - got any beginner manuals around here?

Welcome! There is a learning curve, but it's not that bad.

You may want to look around the forum, especially this first.

I dont suppose you have a primer to do the same thing with insteon devices? Seems like this board needs a newbee section - how about it? Maybe a section to teach the various aspects of the software, so folks get more out of it and arent so scared to try some programming rather than have them search for the basics all over the place. I had to go to several posts just to figure out the phinsteon.rtf is on my own machine (sad I know, but true!). A newbee section might get you some more sales ---- instead of showing the new guy how powerful the software is - show us how to use it, in a well thought out manner. Maybe some easy how to guides!

Like how to intergrate the insteon into an existing X10 setup. How do I write a macro? How does this macro get a motion sensor (x10) to turn on an insteon device?

Maybe all this is covered somewhere - but in the midst of all this genius a poor idiot like me just gets tired of looking at things he doesn't readily understand - and goes and buys some software he really doesn't want just because its simplier or presented better.

mcurran,

I wholeheartedly agree. There is alot of information on PowerHome and it's not currently laid out well. Im currently contracting a third party to update and write the QuickStart Guide as well as the PowerHome User Manual. Hopefully I'll have something available soon.

Also, concerning Insteon...check out the Help file on the PowerHome Help menu. The phinsteon.rtf file is now out of date and the latest info is now in the Insteon section of the Help file.

Dave.
