Insteon Explorer polls the status of my RemoteLinc which never responds, so PH quits sending Insteon commands after the maximum number of failures.

I have changed the device type settings by checking the "ControlLinc" box but that still does not keep it from being polled.

Any ideas?

Brady

BTW - RemoteLinc works really well otherwise

Brady,

Just click the "Disabled" flag for the RemoteLinc in the Devices tab of the Insteon Explorer. This will keep PowerHome from trying to poll the status or do any communications with it. It will still listen and respond to commands sent from the RemoteLinc though.

If you're trying to program the RemoteLinc or communicate with it, then you must press and hold one of the keys until it enters link mode (and clear the "Disabled" flag). Then it is capable of being communicated with. This is by design on the RemoteLinc in order to prolong battery life.

Dave.
