When tapping or double-tapping a SwitchLinc paddle or a KeypadLinc button, it sends group commands as opposed to direct commands, correct? What gets sent when the paddle is held down to brighten or dim; is it Start Manual Change when pressed and Stop Manual Change when released, or is it a string of Bright/Dim commands like with X-10? I ask because as far as I could tell, Start/Stop Change are direct commands only (not group), so how would that work with a linked group?

Joe,

You are correct. Insteon does not send repeated bright/dim commands like X10 and instead sends a single "Start Manual Change" when the button is held followed by a single "Stop Manual Change" when the button is released. These commands are sent as group broadcast commands and are not followed by group cleanup commands.

Dave.

Thank you, Dave. Just what I needed to know.
