So, I don't know if this is an interesting idea or not, but I'll put it out there. This morning we had a brief power failure, and when it came back, a KPL came back in the wrong state. So I got to thinking...
I see that PH is good at syncing the program with the network (i.e., you can make PH update itself to the exact state of all your devices). But, how about the other way around? I've been thinking it would be useful to have a way to make PH push what it -thinks- is the state of all your devices out to the network.
This is something akin the the 'execute past timed events at startup'. At startup, or, if we can figure out how, after notification that the PC's UPS took a hit, (or even, on a scheduled basis), you'd have PH push out to the network what IT thinks all the device state should be. That way, any devices that somehow got jammed would be fixed.
I'm not trying to dump work on Dave, there may even be a way to do this already, or, there may be a good reason -not- to do this. It just got me thinking so I thought i would mention.

It's an interesting idea but not sure I'd use it -- or at the very least, it would be highly selective. In my case, I think the issues I typically see are either the PLC or computer either being down, offline, or otherwise missing commands. In these cases, I wouldn't want PH changing my devices on me.
However, what I think I may do is write a macro or program that syncs the controllers, but not the loads themselves. For example, I have a KPL button that is cross linked with 4 toggleLinc Dimmers. Once in awhile, they get out of sync. One shows on when it's not, or vice-versa.
In these cases, I don't want to change the light, but rather the controllers to reflect the correct status. This would involve reading the device that controls the actual load, then finding all the links to that device.
Not sure if that makes any sense :)
What this would require would be a way for me to ask PH to give me a list of all controllers for a certain device.
Dave -- is that possible? Could I give PH an ID for a device and get a list of all devices that PH has as controllers?
