Where is Device Control String builder referred to in the help file. I'm looking for examples of simple formalae to learn from.
"Usage
See the Device Control Strings produced by the Device Control String builder for examples on valid strings."

That is a bit confusing. I take it as: Use the Device Control String Builder (in a macro using a Device Control type) and look at the output.

Tony,
To quote Churchill, this program is "a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma".
I'm surely confused. When I look at the help file for Device Control type it also refers to the Device Control String Builder. So I'm left with no examples of how to use a formula.
It looks like the help file was written by and for experienced users who don't need help. How would a novice learn to use formalae?

Jerome,
Documentation is definately the weak spot . I started working on it with Noel and he did a wonderful job with the QuickStart Guide, but Ive fallen behind on working with him to upgrade the manual. I will get it back on the burner though.
In the meantime, you can see the Device Control Builder by opening the PowerHome Explorer and going to a screen that support Device Control Strings. These screens are the Timed Events, Macro Detail, Control Center Detail, and Triggers. Probably the quickest way to see it is to go to Timed Events and insert a new blank timed event. Set the "Type" to "Device Control" and then double-click the "ID/Keys/Formula" field. A new window called "Device Control" will then open. Just fill in the boxes and press "OK" and you'll see the resulting device control string appear in the Formula field. A few examples through the Device Control window and you'll see how to easily build these strings without even using the window.
Let me know if you have any problems or questions,
Dave.
