I just got a remotelinc 2440 and a access point module. How do i get the remotelinc to set triggers for starting a macro. The only button i can get to work is the all on button. When i push any button on the remote, i do not see anything in the status screen, when i press the all on button, i do see an address scroll.
Thanks
Brian

I think you just need to link it to the PLC to see messages.

Each button on the remotelinc needs to have the PLC as a responder. (Or, at least 1 other device). If a device doesn't have any responders, it won't broadcast...

sorry to keep sounding like a dummy here, but i am not having any luck with getting my remotelinc to activate triggers. If someone could please break it down to dummy terms so i can understand how to get this thing working i would be most thankful.

I took my RemoteLinc of the shelf and decided to play with it as you were having problems. This is what I did to fire a trigger. I went to PH Explorer>Devices>Units and defined it there. Secondly I went Insteon Explore>Devices and made sure it was defined there. Then I went to the Links tab in Insteon Explorer and in the Insteon Device ID pull down I displayed the Controller (PLC). I then dragged from the ID window the RemoteLinc ID to the Controllers window. In the same window I made the Group equal to the button I wanted to trigger from on the RemoteLinc. I then Saved After a few minutes I checked the same link (Refreash) to make sure they were Verified. Next I went to PH Explorer>Macros and added a macro called Test with one entry and checked the Skip. And finally I created the Trigger. PH Explorer>Triggers added a Trigger Action Type = Macro, Action = Test, Trigger Type = Insteon Device Chg, Trigger ID = the name of my RemoteLinc, Trigger ID Number = to the button number I defined in the Link window, Trigger Value = button ON or OFF, Boolean = 1. With all that mess you should be good to go.
One step I left out is while in the Linking step I also selected from the Insteon Device ID drop down the name of the RemoteLinc. Then I dragged into the Responders Window the name of the Controller(PLC) and change the Group to the button I was defining.

I’m glad it worked for you. I see you didn’t forget to put it in Linking Mode as I left that out.
