Hi - I just upgraded to 2.1b (from the last rev of 1.x), and I notice that I lost all my insteon devices from Device Status. What's up with that? How do I get them back?
Also, in the Powerhome Status screen, the "upcoming Timed Events" field is blank (although Timed Events are firing).
Finally (a nit) - I accidently clicked on "Web Center" (not sure what that's for) but there was no way to remove the window, the top of it (that assumedly had the X box) was hidden under the top menu stripe.

Jeff, I’ll take the “low hanging fruit ”. On the PH Status screen, resize the individual windows and right click – save. Haven’t got an answer of the Device Status.

Ok thanks BB - and while I'm at it
#4: My monitor is 1600x1200, I want PH to open at close to that size. However, even if I resize the window, after next reboot it's back to 1280x1024. Any trick for that?
Thanks!

I think that’s an XP and\or sp3 thing. I now run on Vista and don’t have that issue. Also for the Web page you might try going into the PH INI in program files locate the Web Center definitions and change the width=2400 and height=1500 and see what that does.

I think it's a issue of window location, not size, for the web center.
Do I really Lose the Device Status function for 2.1b? I used that!

There’s something real simple causing your Device Status screen but don’t have the answer yet. The smaller size will allow the X to appear, at least that’s my theory.

BB - there are no graphics issues with my Device Status screen. It looks fine. However, only my X-10 devices are listed. None of my INSTEON devices are listed. Now, perhaps there's somewhere else where i need to enable this, or I need to individually enable each INSTEON device to the screen. I don't know. I'm hoping someone here who upgraded and ran into this knows how to fix it.
THanks!

One area that will cause then not to display is the Devices – Insteon - Units make sure the Disable column is unchecked.

DISABLE isn't checked. DON'T DISPLAY isn't checked.
Hmmmm - This may be related to the INSTEON TYPE issue?

Jeff,
During the upgrade, PH will set all Insteon Types in the Devices screen to a value of 0. Make sure that "Enable Pending" is checked so PH will auto discover the types of the devices it can. The ones that get to set -1, PH was unable to auto discover the type so just manually set it. Remember that the Insteon Explorer doesnt auto update so you'll have to press the Save/Refresh button to see what devices were auto discovered.
Once the device types are set appropriately, they should then appear on the Device Status screen as long as "Dont Display" is not checked in the "Devices" tab.
With the Web Center open, just press the "Layer" button on the toolbar (or go to Window|Layer) and this will resize ALL open windows to perfectly fill the current PH screen size. You will then be able to close the Web Center window. When a window is closed, PH will open it at the same size that it was closed. If windows settings are not sticking, make sure that the "read only" flag isnt set on your pwrhome.ini file. The main PH window should remember its size and location when closed and will reopen at the same size and location. If it doesnt, it's most likely the read only flag.
The Timed Events are still showing in the PowerHome Status window, they're just below the current size of the window. This version will now show not just the next timed event but a list of timed events in the order that they will fire. Just drag the bottom edge of the window to make it large enough to show the number of timed events you're interested in. You'll probably want to resize the other windows appropriately as well. The individual windows DO NOT remember their last state and you must right-click and select "Save" from the pop-up menu to make your changes permanent.
HTH,
Dave.

Hi Dave - Once I updated all my INSTEON TYPES in INSTEON EXPLORER-.Devices, they reappeared in my Device Status.
Thanks for the other answers as well. All happy now. 8=}

although, there's no read_only flag in my .INI. Do I need to add one and set it to 0? Where should it go?
thanks!

Sorry, I mean right-click on the pwrhome.ini file from Windows Explorer and make that it isnt set as "read-only" (the file itself). This will prevent updates to the pwrhome.ini file where things such as window size and position are saved.
Dave.
