[EDIT: YES I AM MISSING SOMETHING . . . A FULL ADD TO THE PLM. ALL WORKING FINE NOW. PLEASE DISREGARD POST AND ACCEPT APOLOGIES]
As long as I’m on a successful roll with PH and Insteon . . . I just installed two new Insteon devices I’ve had around. One is an In-Linelinc relay and the other is a Togglelinc relay. The Togglelinc relay just sends a command to the In-linelinc relay to turn ON or OFF (no neutral at original switch location). This seems to work properly, but when I turn the load on manually, there is no indication in Device Status that either device has turned on (although with polling/status scan on, it eventually sees this). When I turn the device on in Device Stat, then it indicates properly. Why isn’t Device Stat detecting either of these devices being turned ON or OFF (yes, the PLM is set as the controller in PH Explorer for both of these devices)? I suspect it has something to do with the Insteon message issued by the devices when turned on, but I’m not sure.
When the Togglelinc is turned on the following raw command is issued:
009-05-01 10:16:24.859 RX &nbs p; RECEIVEINSTEONRAW=07 1F 7A 0F 44 B1 41 11 01
EVENT LOG TRANSLATION:
Incoming Insteon received on Insteon DM controller PLM 2412S. From Address:[07.1F.7A] To Address:[0F.44.B1] Flags:[65] Cmd1:[17] Cmd2:[1]. Decode: Group Cleanup. From: COURTNEY CLOSET SW To: PLM 2412S Group: 1, On
So it looks like its just transmitting to Group 1, “Hey, I’m ON” [11].
When the switch is activated with PH, the following happens:
2009-05-01 11:28:02.453 RX &nbs p; SENTINSTEON=0F 44 B1 07 1F 7A 0F 11 FF 06
2009-05-01 11:28:02.781 RX &nbs p; RECEIVEINSTEONRAW=07 1F 7A 0F 44 B1 2B 11 FF
Insteon DM Controller PLM 2412S transmission of Address:[07.1F.7A] Flags:[15] Cmd1:[17] Cmd2:[255]. Decode: Direct. ID: COURTNEY CLOSET SW, On
Incoming Insteon received on Insteon DM controller PLM 2412S. From Address:[07.1F.7A] To Address:[0F.44.B1] Flags:[43] Cmd1:[17] Cmd2:[255]. Decode: Direct ACK. From: COURTNEY CLOSET SW To: PLM 2412S, On
This looks a little more involved, but it basically says, “I am ON (11) at max strength (255). [Cmd1 and Cmd2].
Since these are both relays, I am wondering if the lack of information about the ON level [255] in the first commands is why PH Device Stat isn’t registering that the device/devices have turned on? I am wondering if it may have something to do with how the devices are linked?
Right now the In-Linelinc relay is a responder of the Togglelinc Switch along with the PLM (both in Group 1).
The ToggleLinc Switch is a controller for the In-lineLinc Relay and the PLM is a responder (Group 1). Am I missing something?
