My PC is about 50 ft. away from my ELK M1-G. I built a serial cable using
cat 6 plenum cable. The ELM only requires 3 wires (2=2, 3=3, & 5=5) as
shown on page 7 of the ELK M1 manual.

Using the cable I described above, I'm able to run the thr ELP-RP program
and connect with the ELK without any problem. Should I be able to use
the same cable (after disconnecting from ELK-RP) using PowerHome to
connect to the ELK (from the same PC)?

My attempts to far have been unsuccessful.

The cable works! YES!!! Apparently I had the baud rate set too low.
