I use PHSSCMD to send info from Xlobby into PowerHome.
Sometimes (usually after I VNC in from work), I find that PHSSCMD becomes unable to communicate with Powerhome.
Both PHSSCMD and Powerhome are on the same computer (so I could have used PHWMCmd, but I didn't).
I would guess that this might be a firewall or router issues??? In the .ini file:
[Settings]
remotehost=192.168.0.106
remoteport=8500
userid=my user name
password=secret (you get the idea)
The IP address I use is statically fixed by my router.
I DON't have port 8500 opened on my router (and PHSSCMD works fine 99.5% of the time).
What else could I do to enhance the robustness of the PHSSCMD functionality while PHSSCMD and Powerhome are on the same computer?
EDIT:
I was able to confirm that PHSSCMD can still send messages to Powerhome with the network cable disconnected (I was not sure if PHSSCMD hopped to the router and then back to the same computer....now I know that is NOT the case). This tells me that the router and its' settings have nothing to do with this.

Update:
THIS IS NOT A POWERHOME ISSUE....
It happened again this morning. I think I have tracked it down to a bad "network connection" - ie the IP stack.
I tried to dis-able and then re-enable the network connection (to clear it), but it would not do anything (it hung). A re-boot was the only thing that worked.
Side note: I run a mixed network (Vista, and XP computers =>IPv4 and IPv6). <= This might play into it. Also, my router is way old....wonder if that somehow could trash my network connection (even though PHSSCMD doesn't need to go out to the router)...if the connection (or something else) gets trashed PHSSCMD can't send info into PH.
