Hi All,

I am running powerhome as a service. When I select "restart" using the "start" menu, my computer does not respond. It appears that powerhome is causing the behavior because if I kill the powerhome service, the computer will restart fine.

Searching the forums, I found the following thread.

http://www.power-home.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=1329&KW= service

In the thread, there is a post by wasdvd that says:

"Using R11 on my XP Pro, once the service is running using the instructions above, I am not able to shutdown or restart the PC unless I stop the service first.

Since I have stopped the service, I am able to restart the PC, but PH does not seem to restart automatically once the PC is restarted."

This appears to be the same behavior I am seeing, except I don't have any problems with startup.

Dave's response appeared to be to recommend use of a batch file to shutdown/restart the computer to address the issue. I could not tell if this meant that it is not possible to restart the system from the normal gui when running powerhome as a service. Is that the case? I suppose there is probably a way to have the batch file execute when I try to shutdown or restart and/or maybe there is another solution I haven't found yet. I'll keep searching to see if I can figure it out, but if anyone has any recommendations, appreciate the help.

Thanks,

Mike
