I am currently testing Powerhome and it does look interesting and useful so far. However, is there a way of updating the status of a x10 device realtime. (I want to get status updates of each x10 device as close to realtime as possible.) so if I were to manually push the button on the switch (to turn on the light) I want the powerhome software to recognize that the switch has been manually turned on... Is this possible??   Also I would like to know if you have any plans of updating the powerhome software so it will download basic on,off, dim instructions to the cm11a controller memory, so the basic tasks will still function with the PC shut off???

Nickolas,

In order for PowerHome to update status when a switch is manually turned on, the switch would have to be a two-way device (this would be true for an software).  Standard X-10 switches are only a one-way device and have no way of sending an X-10 command when they are manually switched.  The more expensive two-way devices can be configured to send X-10 when they are manually switched.  They can also be polled for their current status as well.

At this time, nothing is really in the works for downloading to the CM11A.  The idea has been toyed with and discussed a couple of times, but at this time its very low on the radar.  PowerHome will function with macros downloaded in the CM11A and even though I realize the its a pain, you could use the included ActiveHome software to set these up.

HTH,

Dave.
