When I start Powerhome with the option to Load Script Server enabled, I receive the following error message:

"An error occurred while creating the script server: -2"

I'm running Windows 7 x64 with UAC off.
Powerhome Version 2.1.4, DB Version 2.1.2

Is there something I can do to make the script server work properly?

Thanks,

Steve

Check all the paths in PH INI and make sure they are set to the same as the default. I’ve had it on a couple installers and was able to fix it that way. One was a registry fix I found searching. I had another that Dave fixed by registering one of the files. Right now I can’t remember which had to be registered.

Hey Pete,

Thanks for the quick response. I double checked the paths in the PH INI file and they are set to the default ("c:\powerhome\*").

I found some potentially related information in this thread: http://www.myx10.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=970&KW=script +server

I validated the information in phscr.reg was correct and re-imported the values just to be safe.

There was also a post in that thread (page 3) from bhlonewolf with another group of registry entries for HKLM instead of the default HKCU. I downloaded that file, edited the values (newer version of pbvm / paths) and imported that. Still no go.

Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks,

-Steve

I’m on the road so sorry for the delay. Do you have 213 and 214 also on? As I said earlier Dave fixed one for me I couldn’t fix and he told me what he did and as usual it went right over my head. Although it is related to the latest versions as I have had the problem with Vista and Win7 x64. And I do believe it has something to do with registering. I’ll keep researching it and see if I can find an answer for you.

Hey Pete,

No worries. I haven't had any need to use the script server up until now and it's by no means urgent. I appreciate the help regardless of the turnaround time. :)

Yes, I have 2.1.3 and 2.1.4 applied as well.

As far as registering, I made several attempts to register phscr.pbd activeX control as it seems that the "-2" error is related to powerhome not being able to find this control. I tried both the regsvr32 under \windows\system32 and the one under \windows\syswow64 and both displayed an error:

The module "phscr.pbd" may not compatible with the version of Windows you are running. Check if the module is compatible with an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of regsvr32

Please let me know if you figure out what you ended up doing to get it functioning properly on your system.

Thanks,

-Steve

Did you try this one:

regsvr32 "c:\powerhome\ph_scriptserver.ocx"

You, sir, are a genius! That took care of it. Script server is currently running like a champ.

Many Thanks!!!
