I am ready to buy some more x10 products to automate my family room. I am using powerhome with a cm17a transceiver/tm751 to control my bedroom lights, fan, heater. It works fine for my simple application.

I also have a USB-UIRT to control my IR stuff. My and a cm15a USB transceiver? I understand that the software is not so good yet. Or should I purchase a cm11a or cm17a to communicate with a tm751?

Should I wait for powerhome to support the cm15a USB or should I just purchase an old-style transceiver? I would like to stay with powerhome as I need the IR control.

Thank you

I plan on adding what support I can for the CM15A, but is still a little ways out since Insteon and UPB will be first. From what Ive read about the controller and the SDK required to control it in general leaves a lot to be desired. It appears that most Home Automation software developers have chosen not to add support.

I would recommend in the meantime a PowerLinc USB or a CM11A if it could be had cheap. I would definately upgrade from the CM17A/TM751 combo and would look at possible adding a W800RF32 for even more reliable RF X-10.

Dave.
