I have been looking around for some equipment/software to integrate into my condo to turn it into a "voice controlled" environment. I came across this website and have been going through the Forum and it seems like this is a good product.
My questions are this:
I am completely new to all of this home automation stuff (read up on X10 articles but nothing beyond that). I wanted to know if:
1) Where can I buy the switch controls for lights?
2) Where can I buy IR controls for my cable box/tv/stereo?
3) Can the PowerHome product integrate with all of the above mentioned?
4) Is it difficult to setup?
5) I have written a stand alone application using the .NET speech sdk and C# that currently just launches applications on my computer and interacts with them. Are there exposed interfaces available in PowerHome that would allow me to do the same (interact via already written custom applications)?
6) Are there microphones available or suggested that I can mount throughout my condo to handle voice inputs and if so where can I purchase them?
Thank you in advance for any help.

Welcome!
1 & 2: I suggest Automated Outlet. Martin runs a good shop.
3. Depends on which technology you select. X10 and Insteon are supported, UPB and zwave are not yet.
4. Not difficult for a basic setup. PH is powerful, so, there is a learning curve for advanced functionality.
5. Yes, you can launch external apps and pass info with PH.
6. PH's VR (MS) works well with a close mic and quiet environment, but reliable room-based voice control is still a ways off. I have read that there are poeple doing this with noise-cancelling systems set up to filter out TV and audio sounds with great success. I suspect that a Bluetooth mic would yield good results and not be as complicated.
