Just wanted to let everyone know that I upgraded the forum software today to use a SQL Server backend rather than the previous MS Access database. Posting messages was just getting way to slow.

Anyways, I believe that everyone should have been ported over along with all messages. Also, Im hoping the performance will improve.

Also, the path to the forum actually changed. The links on the website have been updated but you may have to update any personal links or favorites you had previously saved.

Let me know if anyone has any problems.

Dave.

Dave,

The performance for me has definitely improved. The last several days specifically I have noticed the forum to be very slow. Today everything is much quicker.

It definately seems quicker, but I was hoping for instantaneous .

The only thing that has me concerned is that previous links posted on other boards will now no longer work since I had to change the forum directory.

Hopefully this will make things more enjoyable for everyone because I know I was getting very tired of the long waits.

Thanks for commenting Dean,

Dave.

Dohhh!!

Sorry folks but I was able to get the board working using the old forum path (no matter what I tried yesterday, it would not work unless I used a different path).

Anyways, the links have been updated once again so all old direct links should be back working again.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Dave.

How often is that login page displayed where you have to type the contents of the bitmap? It seems like I have to do it twice a day, and it's beginning to bug me!

You're not the only one!! Sometimes it's hard to read and I have to login twice. When I get a chance, I'll look at the ASP code and see if I can take that bitmap confirmation out.

And is it just me or is it slower again?

I think it's slow. This is most likely a result of my ISP though.

I'll see what I can do about the cookies so that it stays logged in longer.
