Michael,
PBVM80.dll is the PowerBuilder Virtual Machine (version 8.0). This wont hurt your machine in any way.
The current version of PowerHome uses PBVM90.DLL so Im curious as to what you're running that is looking for the PBVM80.DLL.
Let me know what you're running that is making this message appear and I'll either need to upload the 8.0 runtimes for you or Im sure there is a newer version of EXE that will use the current 9.0 version of the DLL.
Dave.

Dave,
Thanj you for answering me. I have a new HP and am running Windows XP.
I downloaded AOL until I could get connected with my DSL, When I deleted AOL is when the message started appearing. Any suggestions as to why? How can I fix this?
Michael

Michael,
Not sure why deleting AOL would cause this, but anything is possible. What version of PowerHome are you running? Also, when do you get this error message (what program or command are you running just prior to this message showing up)?
Let me know and we'll get it worked out.
Dave.

thanks everyone for the input. But yesterday I was so tired of this .DLL thing I called Microsoft. It seems that it is some sort of searchbar thing which was loaded when I put AOL on and then something messed up during the removal of AOL.I was walked through the master registary and then Run to locate it and then deleted it. I am running Windows XP Media Edition with the patch. It really was interesting. Also they went into my computer remotely to show me how to use a program that was giving me trouble. Anyone else ever had that done?? Kind of earrieeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Tony,
I would say definately spam. Ive read the message over and over and havent really figured out how it could be PH related.
Michael,
WOW! It almost sounds as if AOL was using PowerBuilder (version 8.0) for some of it's development. Especially since PowerHome hasnt used 8.0 for several versions. Glad to hear that MS was able to finally get it worked out.
I actually am in the same situation as Todd. I use VNC as my remote control app of choice in my daily job and have used it with PowerHome users when they've needed help. It's really a very useful diagnostic tool when you can see exactly what is going on.
The biggest problem I have when using it to help out PowerHome users though is that most people are behind a router and trying to talk them through opening up ports 5800 and 5900 so that VNC can pass is usually pretty difficult. I thought I could solve this by running VNC Viewer in "Listen" mode and then have the remote server client initiate the connection using "Add New Client". Didnt seem to work. If anyone has figured this out or knows of a way to do VNC or similar without requiring the remote server to "open" up ports, I would love to hear about it.
Michael...You are the first person Ive heard of that is running PowerHome on XP Media Center. Does it seem to work without any problems?
Thanks,
Dave.

Dave have you tried the one built into XP? remote assistance? they have to invite you to help but I dont think you have to open any ports. works on 80 or one already open but you and they have to be using xp and they have to setup the invite, and accept connection. works ok

Remote S/W: Several people on CT swear by logmein.com's free version.

I played with logmein a couple of times awhile ago. If I remember correctly, it was quicker than VNC but you had to go through the hassle of creating an account on their website. I'll have to look at it again though since it's been awhile.
How do you do a Remote Assistance Invite? I right-clicked "My Computer", selected "Properties" and navigated to the "Remote" tab to some settings. I didnt see how you could actually send the invite though.
Dave.

Todd,
I seem to be missing that. Can you check the properties and tell me what EXE it actually runs?
Thanks,
Dave.
