Help!!! Newbee on board...
I'm looking forward to using the powerhome system but I can't figure out how to make macros etc...

I'm not a programmer....
Can someone help me with some macro examples?

1- I would like an x10 light to come on at sunset and off at dusk.

2- An x10 light to come on after an x10 motion sensor
detects motion.

3- to control a tv and a home stereo but I would like the system to send different ir codes based on wheter the tv or stereo is already on.

Thanks....

I know, I know, Ive got to get to work on those wizards .

I'll put together a couple of scripts which will help automate the process for you. In the meantime, I need to know what kind of X-10 controller(s) you have. Im assuming you probably have a CM11A for two-way transmission and are NOT using an MR26A but are instead using X-10 transceivers (its important because the triggers will be different, either X-10 In or X-10 RF In).

Im also assuming you have some form of supported IR controller and have successfully learned the IR codes for your devices. If you could give me the names you assigned to the TV and Stereo, it'll help me tailor the scripts for you.

Dave,

I too am new to this system and would like to see more examples of macros.  I have the firecracker interface with the MR26A receiver.  I also have an RR501 Tranceiver a TM751 Tranceiver and the AM466 appliance module.  I also have several XM13A Video controller modules and EagleEye MS14A modules.  I havenlt found anything on the last 2 modules.

Chris

Chris,

The EagleEye MS14A modules are essentially the same as the MS13A Motion sensors.  You can either use these as is or copy the MS13A types and rename the copies to MS14A.  To do this, go to the X-10 -> Types screen in the Explorer and right-click on the row to copy.  You can also add in the details for the XM13A modules here as well.

You can see a lot of example macros, triggers, etc by launching the Sample database that is included in the download with PowerHome.  To launch the sample database, open the pwrhome.ini file which is default located in c:\program files\powerhome.  Change the line that reads "DSN=PowerHome" to "DSN=PowerHome Sample".  Save the file, shutdown PowerHome and restart.  You will now be accessing the sample database.  You can view and export any items of interest and then import them into your own database.  To get back to your database, just reverse the above steps.

If you have any specific questions on how to accomplish something, just let me know and I'll help you out.

Dave.

Dave,

Is there a way to indicate the the MS14A has seen movement.

Can I change the color of a button for example?

Not in the Control Center.  The X-10 status screen is real-time and will indicate the current status via a color change.

You could also do something via the Web server interface where you have a PSP page that auto-refreshes every so often and indicates motion via a color change.
