I have followed the instructions in the PDF and worked through the steps to set up Powerhome with my Insteon devices:

1 - Added the PLC as a device in the PH explorer
2 - Cleared the PLC memory
3 - Manually added my 23 Insteon devices into PH
4 - Downloaded the devices to the PLC
5 - Tried to sit back & let PH find all the links etc.

My problem is while it looks like PH is going to each device and querying for info, after letting the system run overnight there are no records of any links for any of the 23 devices.

I know that I have manually cross-linked several 3-way switches but PH shows nothing.

Did I miss a step?

At the top of the "insteon explorer" did you put a checkmark in the box for read link tables? (or something similar) That turns on the "spidering".

Yes - I checked "Link Scan", "Allow Link Spidering", "Level/Ramp/X10 Scan", "Update on ACK"

Thart,

Welcome to PowerHome!

Couple of things to check. First, in the Insteon Explorer, go to the "Devices" tab and press the "Save/Refresh" button. Look to see if you have any red backgrounds in the "Clear Failed" column. If you do, then PowerHome has tried to communicate with these devices a number of times and has given up due to communication failures. If PowerHome wasnt able to communicate with the device, then it wouldnt have retrieved it's links. While you're there, also check to make sure that the devices have a check in the "Active" column.

If this all looks good and PowerHome still does not show any links, then you can place a check in the "Scan DB" column to force PowerHome to scan the devices again. Make sure that you press the "Save/Refresh" button after making changes so that the changes are saved. After doing this, check the "Pending Operations" window. If all is well, you should see "SCAN LINK" operations appear. If you don't, then it's either the "Poll Interval", "Active", or "Clear Failed" that is causing a problem.

In a normal setup, the "Pending Operations" window will never be empty and most of the time you'll see "POLL STATUS" messages. When PowerHome is doing nothing else, it will continuously "poll" each Insteon device for it's database revision and current status as long as the above fields have no problems. "POLL STATUS" is the lowest priority item so other operations will jump to the top of the queue when they come up. So it will always appear that PowerHome is "busy" and at first glance appear that it never gets "done". As long as the top operation in the Pending Operations window is POLL STATUS, then PowerHome is done with Link scanning and the like.

Let me know,

Dave.
