Hi is there anyway to give an insteon device (inline linc) an x10 address without manually putting the device in linking mode.

I would think you can do this with Insteon Explorer. Put the X10 address in the proper field in the Devices tab, and be sure the Write level/Ramp/X10 is checked and click Save (or whatever it is) and that should do it. I don't use any X10 addresses, so I'm not 100% sure.

This is worth a shot...

After they've all been written, go to the switches and pull the airgap. This can be very quick. Just pull the airgap until the LED on the light goes out and then press it back in. Since there is no airgap on an In-LineLinc, flipping the breaker may be easier than getting to the wiring.
