Hello,
I have been using PowerHome for almost 2 years now with a 2414U. About 2 weeks ago it just quit and I cant get it working again! I tried resetting it, I searched the forum and tried everything I could, but it doesn’t seem to work. It links to the computer fine but it wont communicate with and devices (I tried 4 or 5 different ones). I did update to the Alpha version of PowerHome, but it worked after that for awhile. Just to prove it’s not PowerHome I downloaded the smarthome timer app. and that doesn’t work either!
This is what I get from the DeviceManager log...
ui:getplcstatus
PLC:getPLCstatus=beginlist
port=USB4
connected=True
firmware=2.13
id=05.10.31
devicetype=InsteonPLC-USB
lastErrorMsg=#0:
endlist
uifinished:getplcstatus
ui:getlinks
uifinished:getlinks
downloadTimer started
timerActivate enabled
UI:ConnectedAndReady

uifinished:srir=00 00 00 06 D0 BE 0F 12 FF

PLC:eventraw=05

PLC:SRIR=05
I keep getting this PLC:eventraw=05 which I think means its not getting a response from the device but I just don't know why!
Any ideas??
Thanks for your input!!

Interestly enough mine failed last Friday. I tried everything and finaly called tech support. Using the free software was their confirmation that the unit had failed. They are cross shipping me a new unit as we speak. The unit is warranteed for 2 years,mine was out of warranty by a week. No problem they are sending it out N/C. They have been an exceptional company to do business with.

Hello,
If you have skills with electronics or know someone with, just open it and replace the eletrolitic Capacitors for a new ones. if i remember, one is 470uF x 35v and other is 10uF x 16v.
i had the same problem and its just the capacitors. smarthome use poor quality capacitors 1 to 2 years max life.
cheers
