I don't think there is a "right" answer to this (though I could be wrong), but I'm curious as to how people approach the following situation:

I have two different front porch lights, each on their own SwitchLinc, and which I do periodically independently control. I also have configured a button on one of my KPLs to turn both of those lights, as a group, on/off at the same time.

My question: what should I do with that KPL button when I just turn one of the porch lights on via its own Switchlinc? Since the lights are in different states, does it make more sense to have the KPL button on or off? Is there some cool trickery people use in this situation, to enable intuitive group control from that KPL button when the lights are in different states?

Just curious as to how you do it...

You can have the following porch light situations ...

A off   B off
A on   B off
A off   B on
A on   B on

What do you want KPL button C to do under each condition?

Exactly! ;)

I know what my options are - I'm looking for practical input regarding the best way to actually configure things. I don't know at this point what I want button C to do in cases 2 and 3 (where A and B are in different states) and am looking for ideas on how other people have approached the issue. It's not so much a PH question as it is an approach/usability question...

My take would be, when either light is on, the KPL light
should be on.
