I have a GC-100-6 working through RS-232, but would like to increase the usage and flexibility.

For instance, I'm controlling my AV receiver via RS-232 by doing the following in a macro:
1) open the com port
2) send the necessary commands (i.e. turn power on)
3) close the com port

However, since there's no native support for Global Cache RS-232, I'm having a difficult time trying to determine how to implement triggers around RS-232 commands. I'd like to be able to have a trigger do something when I send the "power-on" command to the AV unit. For instance, light up my insteon keypads main on/off key, so that it's in sync and knows the AV unit is on/off.
On a side note, I know I can just add a ph_insteon command at the end of my "av_power_on" macro to light the key, but would really like to use a trigger, so that it looks for global changes for RS-232 commands.

Any help with these matters would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
