I was just finishing things up with my CIR when I realized that my computer has a 9 pin serial port and not the 25 that the schematics specify. I need to know where to connect the 4 DB25 wires to the 9 pin connector so that PH will recognize the CIR.

The CIR device is meant to be driven from the parallel port (printer).  This will be a DB25 female connector on your computer.  The DB9 male and DB25 male connectors are serial ports and will not work for the CIR device.

Additionally, you will need to be running either Windows 95 or Windows 98.  The CIR device will not work with Windows NT, 2000, or XP.  There are certain programs which are designed to allow direct port access on these operating systems and should therefore allow the CIR device to work, but I have not personally tested these.

Hope this helps,

Dave.

Hmm... OK then. That is actually quite a bit easier. Thanks!
