Withings makes a neat wifi scale that measures BMI (body mass index) as well as your weight. Withings Scale

The data from the scale is stored on the Withings server and is available via many different forms.

From what I have been able to read, their stuff is open source and should be able to be manipluated by PH, but I am not sure how (I am still awaiting the scale that I recently ordered). Here is where you personal data would be stored:
user accounts

Wondering if anyone else has ever looked at bring this info into PH?

Here is their SDK:
Withings SDK

Still learning PH but sounds like a service or a plug in could transfer the data. Not sure how you would use it (Gain 5 lbs and the spot lights come on at 100% ;) or the TTS insults you :) )

Could be fun ;)

I just looked at the SDK, and this could be done is WSH in a few lines of code. They provide the service, you just consume the Web Server (and pass the oAuth token) and you have access to all of the listed functions.

Again, I can see gathering the info to display as a variable(s) on the Control Center, but other then remote locking the refrigerator door (Hmmm have to think about that :) ). I'm not sure what it can be used for. (but I am open to suggestions!)

Ideally I would like PH to trigger anytime someone stepped onto the scale (that might mean anytime new data arrived into the withings database).

If the respone were close to real time (ie the system would then know who is in the bathroom at what time....PH could trigger my morning wake-up macro (turn radio on, start coffee pot etc).

I would hope that I could get information on:
-the user (or unknown)
-the weight, BMI, lean and fat weights
-any previously entered goals
-etc

I would then use this information for:
-positive reinforcement around meal times
-morning reminder for weigh ins
-pre-work out re-inforcements
-etc.
