In the process of learning the program, I have made a terrible mess. I have just upgraded to the new Beta and took out the problem devices I had.
I want to start over to avoid problems.
How do I reset both PowerHome and each device so that it is as though I never did anything. I assume I can just do a factory reset on the Insteon devices. Will that clear all links and x-10 addresses and local on-level and ramp rates.
Once that is done, how do I clear the PLC and PowerHome?

That should cover the devices.
I think this from the PH Insteon readme applies...
Quote:
you should next "Clear PLC Database". This will remove any ID's currently existing within your PLC's database and prep it for auto discovery. ... the "Clear PowerHome Insteon Devices" and "Clear PowerHome Insteon Groups" ... buttons work with the PowerHome database and may be used to clear any Insteon Devices defined within PowerHome as well as any Insteon links defined within PowerHome. These two buttons DO NOT effect any Insteon devices and simply wipe out PowerHomes Insteon database |

I then think you would delete you devices, triggers, macros, and timed events from PH.
Insteon is new to me, too, so you may want to wait for someone else to chime in!

Lazyman,
Yes, a factory reset will wipe out all links, X-10 addresses, etc. and will restore you to factory (or better than factory as there have been reports of "test" links).
Tony's got you covered on clearing PowerHome. From the "Insteon DM Control" screen, I would first "Download Core Application", "Clear PLC Database", "Clear PowerHome Insteon Devices", "Clear PowerHome Insteon Group". You'll then be all set for either Auto Discovery or manual entry of your Insteon devices.
Dave.
