I added an Icon Relay to control my water circulating pump. How come it does not show upon the Device List?

I believe that the Icons need to be defined (they don't exist in the DB as-shipped).

Check this post.

Hmmmmm. I am gonna need more guidance on this one.

I auto-discovered the device after installation. It reported the device as an Icon Relay (which is correct). It also properly identified the device address.

Okay, I just double checked status. Now (18 hours later), the device does show up and appears to be working.

That means I have no question now other than to explain the delay which I am not that interested in getting into. When it works, I am happy.

I think there is a lot unfolding on the Insteon front.

One thing is that noise issues seem to be a bigger deal than we thought. You may want to follow the Insteon threads over on www.cocoontech.com.

Lazyman,

If an Insteon device is not showing up on the Device Status screen, it's almost always because the Insteon Device Type is set as "Control Only". Devices flagged as "Control Only" purposely do not show so that things like ControLincs and slave switches in 3-way setups do not show.

Sometimes when auto-discovering, the Insteon type will choose the type that shows "(Control)" at the end. Just go into the Insteon Units screen and change the device type to the same type that is not "Control".

Also, the Device Status screen is not refreshed until a change occurs. After making the device type change, you need to cause a change that will refresh the Device Status screen. The easiest way to do this is to go to the DS screen and turn a light on or off.

Dave.
