Hey Guys:

I'm not sure exactly what happen. Now when I try to open PowerHome, I get the ODBC Configuration for Adaptive Server Anywhere client window.

Did you reinstall to a different directory? Check the PH INI to make sure the path to the DB is correct. Also if you have Quickbooks running it can cause the same problem.

It looks correct.

pwrhome.ini

DBF=C:\powerhome\Database\pwrhome.db


Is pointing to the current databaase.

Is this a continuation of the problem you had last year or did something change and it has reoccurred? The install seems to be the same as mine with Win7 C:\powerhome. I have UAC at min but don’t think that makes a difference.

Still no luck.

I tried uninstalling and then reinstalling.

Just for fun try starting it from Windows Explorer c:\Powerhome\pwrhome.exe and right click and run as administrator.

The only thing left I can think of is reinstall it using defaults and move the ini and db over to the new directory and change the path for db. Run as admin and uac off. See if that changes the equation.

Didn't work either. The only thing that has happened since last successful run is that I blew up a LampLinc. Other than that everything is the same.

Well usually that message is associated with the database not being in the same path as everything else putting it in broad terms. I have found it also to be a problem when other programs using ODBC as in Quickbooks. I’m sure there are others. There is obvious something in conflict with SysBase (Adapter Server) opening the database. It may be a simple answer but we have done the simple things so these sounds like a Dave fix. May be an SQL problem don’t know. Something is interfering. If something pops up in my pea brain I'll beam up.

Thanks for help. I took some screenshots of my ODBC System DSN and File DSN. Didn't see anything for powerhome.

I had something very similar happen. Hopefully yours is not the same problem as mine, but my database was corrupt. I emailed it to "The man from above who's name starts with D." and he could not repair it. He said his success rate on DB repair is pretty low.
I hope that's not your problem, but thought I should share my experience with it.
