X10 just released a CM15A USB interface that has more memory but also it's own Transceiver that handles all the house codes. Are there any plans to add this controler into PowerHome. The big selling point for me is being able to only use one Transceiver.

X10 also is providing the SDK for this device as well.

Will,

The current SDK (as X-10 calls it) is just an active-x interface to their ActiveHome Pro software. The big drawback at this point is the current SDK does not allow you to individually address X-10 modules separate from sending them a command. The standard X-10 protocol (and the way PowerHome is designed) requires two commands to turn a light on. The first is an address command followed by the function command (on, off, etc). This type of addressing is not currently available.

However, from reading the X-10 developers forum, X-10 has stated they will soon release the actual protocol specifications. This will allow us to write a driver such that the individual addressing will be available and ActiveHome Pro does not need to be installed and running.

Support for this module is definately planned, just waiting for the release of the "actual" protocol. If it does not materialize soon, I'll put together something that utilizes whats currently available but it will have reduced functionality since individual addressing is not available.

Dave.
