Is it possible for parts of PH to be in separate threads?
Delays during various commands (sending X-10 dims for example) hang up the works!

Tony,
It's something I can look into, but havent been to successful in the past . Previous attempts at multi-threading (the email preprocessor) in particular resulted in failure and numerous lockups which is why we've got the separate email preprocessor app now.
Certain aspects of PowerHome however have been meticulously coded to force them to be single threaded however. In particular, communication with the various controllers. In the ancient past, PowerHome at one time did not enforce all commands going down a single pipe and I got very undesirable results. For example, I would have a macro that would perform multiple tasks in a precise order. I would for example first dim lights to an appropriate level and then send the "play" IR command to my DVD player. Before piping all commands, I would sometimes have the "play" command executed before the lights had dimmed because the X-10 controller may have been busy with another command.
When you say separate threads, you're not referring to this type of control are you?

Could be. I just don't like dimming a light and having to wait until it does to get control back.
Let me know if I need to explain this better.
