I've joined the open source project
vmcController
and just checked in my first set of changes and
released a new beta
(http://www.codeplex.com/VmcController/Release/Proje
ctReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=19549) with those
changes in place.

The vmcController lets you completely control a vista
Media Center via once TCP/IP socket. And monitor the
current state via another.

I just added support for browsing / playing / queuing
the audio library.

All in all it's a pretty slick media center plugin
(before my additions)

I've got things works now, but if I can maintain my
interest I'll probably add a web server interface next.
